O'Sullivan Cup - 2019

Well done to Jack Cafaro (Malvern), on today's win in this, the 30th O'Sullivan Cup !

Strong performances from many competitors, including foilist Gethin Ap Phylip, Lampeter, and Morgan Fouracre-Evans, Russell Swords.

Neck and neck at the halfway stage were Rupert Nute & Jack Cafaro, with Rupert leading Jack by 2 points on the penultimate round.  Jack drew level in the final round, with 25 points a piece, and got the verdict with an exciting one-hit decider - our first such for 30 years - for 1st place.

Well done also to last year's winner, William Meredith-Davies, Adrian Stoneman and Morgan Fouracre-Evans in 3rd & 4th-equal places respectively.  Best wishes too to Rhys Jackson who had to scratch during the event & to Catherine Fisher who also had to cancel, in both cases due to illness..

Thanks to Simon Corcoran for his armoury services, and last but not least, to Peter Russell for the use of Cardiff Academy of Fencing.

Format : Poule unique.

"Thanks again for the fab organisation ! " - feedback from one competitor's Dad..

Results:

Winner : Jack Cafaro (Malvern)
Second : Rupert Nute (Whitchurch)
Third : William Meredith-Davies (Swansea Uni.)
