Whitchurch Fencing Club

Club COVID Guidance - Winter 2022/3

COVID remains a highly infectious disease, in some cases with long term ill health effects.

Although facemasks are no longer legally required, club members should not hesitate to wear them where they feel necessary.

All club members are asked to respect other people's distance where appropriate, especially if more vulnerable, eg due to age or weakened immune system, etc.

As before, on Club night in the Rhiwbina Memorial Hall the high level windows will continue to be opened to improve air-flow.

Handshaking at the end of a bout.
This formality was suspended at the start of the pandemic, and many fencers touched blades (in a low `octave` position) instead.  With the removal of the various COVID legal restrictions, handshaking is no longer suspended.

It is however voluntary, and fencers' preferences should be respected for those who prefer not to shake hands.

And - anyone with Cough / Cold / COVID-like symptoms is asked NOT to attend.
