Privacy Notice

Club Members
Personal Data for Club Members is held on computer.

This is in order to maintain subscription records, be able to readily contact them to notify them of any changes or special events affecting the Club’s availability, especially if short notice, or un-foreseen;  to resolve any questions or issues arising from their club membership;  to invite them to renew;  and of course to notify them of events of interest, such as the club Christmas Dinner, where applicable.

In the case of former members, data is kept for three years. This is in order to be able to maintain details in case of resumption of membership and/or to send reminders, and to be able to contact them in the event of any questions arising from their membership.

Data sharing - The data is not shared - (but see below regarding 'Test & Trace')

WF & BFA membership - Club members are expected to affilate to either Welsh Fencing (WF) or the British Fencing Asociation (BFA), or an equivalent body, who may also hold their Personal Data on computer.   Please refer to the WF or BFA websites for further information.

COVID Test & Trace
Attendance records are kept of those attending on club nights.   During a pandemic, these may be held electronically, so that contact details of those attending can be passed to the relevant authorities, as required.


Competition Entrants
Personal Data for entrants to any competitions run by the Club in the last 5 calendar years is held on computer.

In the case of current entrants, this is in order to be able to readily contact to notify them of any changes affecting the Competition in question, especially if short notice, or un-foreseen; and to resolve any questions or issues arising from their entry.

In the case of previous entrants, this is in order to be able to invite them to apply for forthcoming events, which may be of interest to them.
