Sullivan Cup One hit mixed épée - Cardiff - 15 March 2009
Numbers down on last year, aggravated by the absence of 2 of our regulars due to illness, and another on a long break in Australia - but nevertheless, a fast moving competition, with a quick changeover between rounds.     Pulling out an early lead by a whisker was Veteran fencer Gareth Law, from Swansea, which he maintained by the same margin into the second round, despite the valiant efforts of last year's winner, James Harrington.
Making efficient progress quietly through the competition were John Wiltshire (Whitchurch), and Scotsman Chris McCall from Star Swords.     No ladies this year, so a third prize was awarded by Club Chairman, Bob Turner, in place of the customary "Highest placed opposite sex" award.
